Kafa Forest Coffee

Kafa, the first coffee on earth

Kafa is unique and very exclusive. The coffee plants, which grow entirely naturally and with minimal human intervention, are found in the same forests where centuries ago the first coffee plants were discovered by the Arabs. These forests are in the Kaffa region in southwest Ethiopia. It is suspected that the name 'coffee' also originated here.

The ripe coffee berries are picked and with the hand, and individually sorted. This form of production is very exclusive and the result sublime. The sensory experience that characterises this coffee is as unique as its background. The

carries the scent of Ethiopia's lush Kaffa forests. Kafa is coffee as coffee is meant to be and arguably the best coffee in the world.

Southern Ethiopia (the Sidamo, Kaffa, Arsi and Harar regions) is the original home of coffee, which continues to this day to grow wild in the mountain rainforests in countless varieties. Globally, all plants of the species Coffea Arabica are descendants of plants from southern Ethiopia.
